Our Emergency Management Unit provides information about communications and basic safety procedures to use in the event of an emergency that threatens public safety. These emergencies may include severe weather conditions, major power failures, fires and explosions, transportation accidents, other accidents involving mass casualties, release of hazardous materials, violent crimes, civil disorder, bomb threats, public health emergencies, and acts of terrorism. Such emergencies can pose significant threats to life and property.

Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, the University has maintained an increased level of security and vigilance on our campuses.  We conduct emergency drills on a regular basis, working together with our counterparts on the municipal and county levels.  These procedures are under continual review in order to maintain and enhance our ability to quickly and effectively respond to a public safety emergency.
